Malia has been fishing since she was seven years old and has worked in the fly shop since 2015, although you could definitely find her hanging out there before that. She grew up in Fernie and learned to fish on the local creeks and rivers with her dad, Paul. She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and is currently working in the environmental sector throughout western Canada. However, Fernie is still her favourite place to be and she will continue to make “celebrity appearances” guiding, teaching lessons, and working in the fly shop.
