Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

From Staff and Guides at

Elk River Guiding Company

Another Fishing Season has come and gone!

Once again it’s that time of year to look back and reflect on all the great memories and trips on the river with good friends!  The Crew at Elk River Guiding would like to thank you for your patronage and sharing your passion for fly fishing with us. We would also like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hope that 2020 is full of sipping cutthroat, tight lines and of course, Monster Bulltrout!

Don’t forget to Book you 2020 trips early to ensure you get your favorite guide on the dates that you want as all good thing go fast. We are seeing a trend of Anglers booking their adventures earlier and earlier every year.

Some updates:
The shop will be closed from 1 pm on December 24th until January 7th for a well deserved Break for Shop Staff.  Feel free to send emails during this time as we can get your dates on the calendar for trips and sort out the details when we are back in the shop. We will do our best on the phone messages but email is preferred.

It won’t be all rest as We will be at the Denver Fly Fishing show  Jan 3rd, 4th, and 5th so if you are in the area stop in to see us.

We will also attend the Pleasanton CA Fly fishing show on Feb 21, 22 and 23.

We also are excited about the new Jet sleds for the Bull Trout Safari on the Kootenay River in the fall. Be sure to book your dates early as this has become a favorite for many regulars. Both Darcy and Dylan will be ready to go starting October 1st and Paul will likely be around as well LOL!

We had an amazing trip to Christmas Island this past November. It was our second trip there and if there is interest for 2020, drop us a line and we would be happy to do it again!!!  Tentative dates are late November 2020.

We are also returning to Crooked Island Bahamas in April. If the fishing is as good as they tell me, and I think it is,  this will be back on as an annual hosted trip. Unfortunately this years trip is already full.
