The Last Few Days!

The Elk has been exceptional thanks to great weather. Louis took Lindsay for a float and they had a great day catching Cutts, Bulls, ans some whitefish. The highlight was when the little black stones came out and the dry fly action started.

Early Season Bull Trout! March 3, 2010

Wow, what a difference a week of warm weather makes! Steve has been out checking our secret spots on the Kootenay River and he got into some great Bull Trout. There were also a few nice Cutthroat that were eager to go after the bully flies.

The Elk Is Fishable and Driftable!

The bank ice on the Elk has receded and has opened up the majority of the flowing water. This has created numerous safe spots for bank fishing and although we haven't seen any water craft on the river it should be navigable.

Dangerous Ice along the Elk River. Time to Go Bone Fishing!

The Elk has some dangerous ice banks that make it difficult to get good water access. We have decided that going to Crooked Island Bahamas would be a better choice to get our fly fishing fix in.
