Early Season Bull Trout! March 3, 2010

Wow, what a difference a week of warm weather makes! Steve has been out checking our secret spots on the Kootenay River and he got into some great Bull Trout. There were also a few nice Cutthroat that were eager to go after the bully flies. Kooteny River Bull TroutKooteny River Bull Trout

The Elk Is Fishable and Driftable!

The bank ice on the Elk has receded and has opened up the majority of the flowing water. This has created numerous safe spots for bank fishing and although we haven't seen any water craft on the river it should be navigable.

Dangerous Ice along the Elk River..... ........ Time to Go Bone Fishing!

The Elk has some dangerous ice banks that make it difficult to get good water access. We have decided that going to Crooked Island Bahamas would be a better choice to get our fly fishing fix in.

We have a few spots left so give us a call and we would be happy to have you come along.

Friends, Family and FUN. Thank you!

It's hard to believe that it's already October.......wow...how the summer went by faster than I can recollect.

What an amazing summer! Thank you so much to everyone that came in and supported the shop!
We have a new wall of photos with memories to get us through the cold winter.

Well, fishing has been great! Although this morning there is a fresh little layer of white snow on some of the higher mountains. A sign to all us fisherman to get it in while we can.
We have been doing just that, getting out with guests, family and friends to enjoy the great fishing.

The Glory Days

Most who fish the Elk know that September is a great month to enjoy the solitude of the river.
Already into the second week of September it's hard to belive that the summer months have passed us so quickly. The leaves are barly holding on... wating for the cooler temperatures to stimulate the thoughts of fall and drop their leaves. The tamaracks are already starting to change color. The water levels are consistently dropping with the fall temperatures but the sun comes out keeping the Hoppers and Ant fishing very productive.
