Hot days and Great fishing

We have had a great run of clear sunny days and it has given us some great fishing on the local rivers. From the Crow and Old Man to the Michel, Elk and Wigwam, all have had some epic hatches. Drifting has been a challenge with many new features on the river but it makes for an exciting day as long as you stay alert on the oars. Wading has been best on the smaller waters with our higher than average flows.

Water Conditions:

Flows about 70 cubic M/sec and good visability aside from some new clay banks putting a bit of silt in. BUT WATCH OUT FOR HAZARDS!!!! There are plenty snags and sweepers to get you into trouble if you are not careful.

Trouble....Trouble....

Hatches:

Larger Stone flies are slowing down but sallys are on fire. Big bugs are working well in the faster water and watch for the green Drake hatches.

Green Drake Heaven!Green Drake Heaven!

Flies To Use:

Stims, Chernobyl ants, yellow PMX, Western Green Drakes, and Grey Wullf's

Commentary:

The long weekend is over so some of the holiday traffic has slowed. A great time to come and fish.
