Aaron Caldwel Elk River Guiding Co Guide

** SORRY Folks, A-Aron will be in Smithers this season and is unable to join us in Fernie for the 2017 Season.***

After years of working with us on the CP Rail trips, Aaron is going to join Elk River Guiding for the 2016 season! Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Aaron started his angling career chasing Atlantic Salmon & Brook Trout.  After finishing culinary school, he travelled west to explore the Rockies, and for the past 10 years, has spent his summers guiding in Alberta and B.C.  In his off seasons he can be found in tropical countries on the hunt for permit, tarpon & roosterfish.

Although still drawn to the sun & saltwater, Aaron's focus has turned towards anadromous fish - he now spends his fall & spring guiding and pursuing steelhead in northern British Columbia.   Being a lifelong fly tier, Aaron's winter months are spent at the vice filling commercial orders for trout, salt & steelhead flies.

From the first time he fished the Elk River, Aaron fell in love with it.  He feels privileged to be working with ERGC and is excited to have added Fernie to his annual fishing/guiding pilgrimage throughout western Canada. We at Elk River Guiding are happy to have him back for more than just a few days of train trips!
