Finally we have our river back. It is still higher than average but it is fishable, wadeable, driftable and we love it! Flows dropped below 80 cubic M/second which is ideal for drifting and the start of acceptable wading conditions. It is only going to get better. We have had some great days fishing big golden stonefly patterns as well as green drakes and PMD's Some days have had slow periods on the bite but generally a full day on the water produces some great fish! Cutties on the dry and bullys on the streamer.

Things to think about if you are drifting
There are lots of new sweepers and some new braids on the Elk. The Hosmer launch is a disaster and may be out of service for some time yet.

If you have been holding back on a trip.....now is the time to come!
