Flows on the Elk are 50 cubic M/sec and clarity is 3 to 4 ft Drakes are out with the recent over cast and rain shower. Hoppers are in the grass at the boat launches. Smaller golden stones are still frequent. Its fishing well on top!  All the tribs are also in great shape.

July 10 2014 Getting better by the day

The Elk is below 90 M3/sec  but still a bit green so ther must be some fine silt that dosen't want to settle out.  Some of the best waters to fish from angler reports are the Upper Old Man and the Crow, Michele Creek is clear but a bit fast and the Fording is clean and fast.

June 25 update

Todaythe Elk is at 180 Cubic M/sec for flow.   We need it below 120 Cubic M/sec but the  best is below 100 Cubic M/sec. To put the flow in perspective, a very low flow that we see in late season(October ) is 35 Cubic M/sec.  Last years flood saw over 1000 Cubic M/sec for

The Elk is OPEN for the 2014 Season!

After a great Ski year and some adventure that took us to  Crooked Island, the Mo, Henrys Fork, the Beaver Head, and the Big Horn, the Kootenay, and of course our Stillwater Lakes, we are now anticipating great season on the Elk and local rivers.

Crooked Island was once again a big hit!

The 2014 trip to Crooked was a huge success. We had some new participants as well as some returning anglers who all had a great time. The weather in the first week was a bit windy and we did have some over cast days but that seemed to bring out the bigger Bone Fish.
